Omri Aloni is an Israeli cinematographer based in Berlin, Germany, working across feature films and television drama.

He began his career in Israel, where, during his B.A. studies at Sapir Academic College, he shot Dor, a short film directed by Ofir Raul Graizer. The film screened at festivals worldwide and won the Best Cinematography Award at the South Film Festival. In 2011, Aloni was selected for the Berlinale Talent Campus and subsequently moved to Germany to study cinematography at Filmuniversität Babelsberg, completing both his B.A. and M.A. degrees.

His collaboration with Graizer continued on The Cakemaker, Graizer’s debut feature, which represented Israel at the Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category and won the Ophir Award for Best Film, Israel’s equivalent of the Academy Award for Best Picture. Their collaboration continued with Graizer’s second feature, America, which received critical acclaim. Graizer is currently working on his third feature film.

Aloni’s recent work includes Real Estate, winner of Best Film at the 2025 Haifa International Film Festival and now streaming on Netflix Israel, as well as the german TV films and dramas: DOITSCHA, Fang Mich Doch and recently two  Havelland Krimi movies.

Aloni is drawn to the way light, shadow and color can shape a scene’s emotional world — how an image can hold a feeling, a rhythm, reveal something unspoken, or change the way we see a character.
